As seasoned travelers, we are always in search of beautiful, immaculately groomed five-star accommodations. We recently founded Dr. & Sir Historic Bethlehem Bethlehem Rental Properties with the intent of helping to preserve homes in beautiful Historic Bethlehem. And when we decided to purchase and refurbish The Chandler House, built in 1868 in the Mansard Victorian style, we did so with the idea of making it the place where we ourselves would want to lodge.
Creating special details is a hobby of sorts, and we have truly enjoyed setting the stage for this location. Jay has travelled for business extensively, and our shared dream is to offer the kind of excellent hospitality we have found and enjoyed in our travels.
For instance, we believe in keeping our home "hotel clean," and we want guests to enjoy the same luxury hotel amenities we enjoy—from fine linens, fluffy Turkish towels, luggage racks, and the fastest high-speed Internet (stream multiple movies simultaneously and let us know what you think) to charming glassware, tableware, and even a private gym. Keeping fit while traveling is something we personally consider imperative, and we are certain guests will find the equipment at Chandler House in excellent shape, as well.
As residents of Historic Bethlehem, we take great pride in the neighborhood. The people here are friendly, and we often journey downtown, about a 1 to 2 mile walk or ride, for fine dining, festivals, the arts and incredible shopping. Bethlehem is a vibrant little town, and we have called it home since the 1990s.
We like to tend the gardens ourselves, and we hope you have time to enjoy the botanicals, patio, summer fountain, and front and side porches. If you spot us across the way, our little dog, Tidbit, might offer a tiny bark. Coby, our curious elderly Siamese cat, may also wander over and offer a friendly "meow." Of course, we consider your privacy paramount.
We enjoy such pastimes as old movies, puzzles, board games, and cards, and you can be certain we appreciate the importance of a good game table and a quality TV. You will be happy to find an excellent TV in every bedroom and a common living room with a game table featuring handmade Stave puzzles, games and cards for you to enjoy.
We also maintain a selection of historic homes and apartments for rent in the neighborhood, so if you have any questions about the town, the community or the like, let us know.
We want you to enjoy the area as much as we do, so we always stock information about the town in the home. We are new to AirBnB and want to make a good impression, so please never hesitate to share with us an idea, a recommendation, a thought or (gasp!) a complaint. Enjoy your stay!
